It also proposes night-time itineraries to enjoy the view of animals such as fallow deer, wild boars and foxes that live freely within it. The Orbetello lagoon, a historic WWF oasis, together with the nearby Lake Burano and the Rocconi Wood, is home to numerous flamingos and the Knight of Italy, due to its position along the migratory routes. The visit in the winter months will allow you to admire different species of birds along the three routes proposed by the Oasis. The Villages of Tuff: Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano are known as the villages of tuff and are part of the Archaeological Park of Tuff characterized by the Vie Cave (also called Cavoni). The area between Sovana and Sorano includes numerous Etruscan necropolises dug into the tuff. Rock site of Vitozza: Vitozza is a rocky settlement composed of caves, Etruscan columbariums and remains of a village built in medieval times. The area was inhabited since protohistory, in fact it is still visible and distinguishable the circular holes that housed the very first houses, such as the works of canalization and rock cisterns. Almost all the caves are accessible and can be visited, some caves are so large that they extend over several rooms and even on two floors. Originally the caves were part of an Etruscan necropolis. The whole area is now part of an Archaeological Park well managed and very dedicated to the work of recovery, which has brought back in addition to these caves also the remains of two castles, a circular tower and parts of the walls. For those who prefer to devote themselves to relaxation and wellness there are spas, which since the ancient Etruscans were considered beneficial for the care of the body. The thermal baths of Saturnia and Sorano represent excellence in the Maremma area.
