Località San Michele 6, Boccheggiano 58026 Montieri (Grosseto) Code
Agriturismo San Michele is located in the upper Maremma region of Tuscany, more precisely in the Colline Metallifere in a geographical area surrounded by nature and dotted with medieval villages.
The small rural agglomeration of San Michele consists of six independent buildings, one of which is the residence of the owner of the agritourism, and the other five are used as guest accommodations.
The buildings are located near the swimming pool, within a park of centuries-old oak trees, and each accommodation has a large space for its own exclusive use.
Building finishes and furnishings are those recurring in the rural tradition of the Grosseto and Sienese Maremma.
The farmhouse is the ideal stay for those who want to get away from the daily routine and find the serenity and energy that only contact with nature can give.
The apartments are immersed in a fenced-in park of about three hectares with a forest of centuries-old oaks, meadows and olive trees, ideal for taking walks and resting in the shade of a tree reading a book:
the Scopi Hut, about 36 square meters, is on two levels: on the ground floor there is a living-dining room with a double sofa bed, a kitchen in a niche and a bathroom; on the mezzanine level, which overlooks the living room below, there is a double bed. The kitchen, set in a cabinet-cabinet contains stove-top, refrigerator and a sink. The bathroom is complete with sink, shower, bidet and toilet. Heating and hot water are self-contained, so it can be adjusted directly by the guest. Originally used for wood storage, this small house has been renovated by taking advantage of the considerable existing height to set up the loft with wood plank flooring. Characterizing the small building are the asymmetrical two-pitch sloping roof, the exterior face stone facings, as well as the interior ceiling made of chestnut beams and beams and the floor with terracotta tiles. Thus, both the pleasant distribution of the interior rooms and the use of materials traditionally used in these places give the Scopi Hut a very warm, cozy and romantic atmosphere. In particular, the large window that opens onto the living room is an exceptional belvedere that, beyond the pool, extends to the valley below, at the bottom of which, on the top of a small hill, is the ancient village of Prata. Numerous poignant sunsets can also be appreciated from this window.
Casa Rosa is 40 sq. m. with a porch of 11 sq. m.
It is a small house nestled in a park of centuries-old oaks and consists of a large entrance hall with a sofa bed, a Tuscan kitchen equipped with a fireplace, a double bedroom with a wrought-iron bed and a bathroom complete with shower, bidet, toilet and washbasin. The kitchen, consisting of a chestnut wood cabinet, has a refrigerator, stove-top and two-hole sink.
Heating and hot water are autonomous, so the adjustment can be done directly by the guest.
The Casa Rosa is a typical traditional building of these places, with a gabled roof, Tuscan tile and tile roofing, fixtures and related wooden doors. The ceiling is made of beams, beams and terracotta tiles while the interior and exterior floors are made of terracotta tiles.
The furnishings are traditional to the Maremma countryside and in particular the room is a typical example of nineteenth-century Tuscan arte povera. From the windows and the porch you can appreciate a wonderful view of the park of centuries-old oaks and the olive grove located in the valley below. The house, very comfortable is intimate and cozy, surrounded by greenery, offers the best conditions to spend a stay that combines tranquility and relaxation with the desire both to walk and go on nature excursions and to visit the evocative places of art that are located in the surrounding area, such as Massa Marittima, the Garden of Sounds, the park of the Colline Metallifere, the lake of accesa.
TheGiano apartment has an area of about 30 square meters. It is a small house with a gabled roof in the immediate vicinity of the swimming pool at the foot of the large farmyard dotted with centuries-old oak trees. It is a two-room apartment characterized by the presence of a central fireplace that overlooks both the bedroom and the small kitchen, creating, thus, an atmosphere of great intimacy.
This solution is also designed to recall the etymology of the word "Boccheggiano," which apparently means "Mouths of Janus," the two-faced god of classical mythology
. Janus is a handicapped-accessible apartment, and in particular the bathroom is equipped with a half-column sink, toilet, and walk-in shower.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove-top, and two-hole sink.
Heating and hot water are self-contained, so it can be adjusted directly by the guest. The gabled roof, the wooden ceiling visible from the interior rooms, and the interior and exterior terracotta flooring contribute to the overall warm, intimate atmosphere. Giano's proximity to the manor house also encourages contact with the host family who are willing to involve you in simple daily farm activities and make you feel, thus, an integral part of the rural life that has been taking place here since time immemorial.
The house The Convent: severe and imposing construction, about 95 square meters, insists on the farmyard in an emerging position, almost in defense of the entire structure below.
It takes its name from the ancient Benedictine monastery that stood in the place where today we see the small olive grove.
Among other things, some stones, which make up the face of the outer facades, come from the very walls of the ancient aforementioned convent. The structure is articulated on a single level and is organized in double rooms, each with a private bathroom, which are accessed both directly from the outside and from the common entrance near which there is a small masonry kitchen. This structure, like the others, is immersed in the green park of centuries-old oak trees that characterize the entire farm center. Near the Convent there is a panoramic terrace that constitutes an exceptional belvedere over the valley below.
Internally, all the finishes enhance the peculiarities of the old Maremma farmhouses.
The terracotta floor is laid in the old Tuscan manner, that is, according to a different pattern for each room. The ceiling is warped with wooden beams and currents and brick bricks bricks, the kitchen is in masonry as it was used in our countryside until the beginning of the last century, and the furniture, deliberately simple with a dominant color for each room, gives the whole a tone that goes well with the rhythm of agricultural life that goes along with the changing of the seasons and the alternation of day and night.
A stay at the convent is a bit like rediscovering the meaning of small daily actions by losing yourself in the slow flow of time immersed in the silence of the forest.
Children on the farm find an ideal environment to play and have fun, especially in the sunny swimming pool. It is also possible to have a small breakfast in the morning. It has a sunny swimming pool (mt 6 x 12).
