The agriturismo
The farm “La Fiammetta” is situated just 1 km from the sea in the very centre of the Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan Coast).
It offers nature lovers both a pleasant and relaxing stay where they can enjoy the scent of the surrounding countryside cultivated with olive groves and fruit trees.
The accommodation
The complex consists of five apartments (all on the ground floor), swimming pool, laundry and car park. The two buildings from which the apartments have been obtained have been recently renovated and were once the farm stables and shelters for the carts.
The Apartments:
“EDERA” (IVY) and “FIORDALISO” (CORNFLOWER) : two-roomed apartment with loft sleeping 4 plus a sofa bed. Consists of large kitchen and living room. Loft bedroom with double bed, bedroom with two single beds, bathroom. Air conditioning, television.
“TULIPANO” and “ANEMONE” : three-roomed apartment sleeping 4 plus a sofa bed. Consists of large kitchen, living room, bedroom with double bed, bedroom with two single beds, bathroom, air conditioning and television.
“MIMOSA”: two roomed apartment sleeping 2 plus a sofa bed. Consists of a large kitchen, living room, bedroom with double bed, bathroom. Air conditioning, television.
Activities and surrounding
Its varied coastline can satisfy the most demanding needs. From the suggestive and exotic Spiagge Bianche (White Beaches) at only 15 minutes by bike, the pine woods and wide beaches from Vada, Cecina and Bibbona to Castiglione and Calafuria, both ideal for underwater diving enthusiasts and lovers of rocky coastlines. Furthermore, from the tourist harbour of Cala de’ Medici, it is possible to take a trip to the islands of the archipelago.
The hills behind, with numerous small villages and castles in the midst of Mediterranean bush, offer visitors the opportunity of re-discovering the flavours and traditions of Tuscany. These visits are made even more authentic thanks to the possibility of following the various foot trekking, bicycle and horse paths.
From Rosignano, the principle art cities can be easily reached by either road or train, as well as the most well-known and beautiful spots in the area.
For history enthusiasts, it will be of interest to know that “La Fiammetta” is placed right in the centre of an area populated and cultivated from Etruscan times. Here an imposing Roman villa was excavated in the 60’s (hence the area’s name La Villana). The finds can be seen at the Archeological Museum at Rosignano Marittimo.
Since 1700’s, the area is recorded as being highly fertile due to the intensive cultivation of vineyards and olive groves. It was from the beginning of 1800’s that “La Fiammetta”, the most ancient farm in the area, took on its present aspect.
