The agriturismo
The family-run farmhouse Valle dei Venti is located in the centre of Val di Cornia , just a few minutes by car from the most beautiful beaches in the area (Baratti, Rimigliano Coastal Park, Sterpaia Park), the most characteristic villages (Populonia, Campiglia Marittima, Suvereto), and the towns of Piombino and San Vincenzo.
Matteo, Serena, Ida and Agostino will be happy to suggest the most beautiful places to visit in their area and the most characteristic restaurants where you can taste many local products.
The farm produces melons, a good wine, Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil IGP, chickpeas, pasta, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Guests can buy directly on the farm and taste all these products in the welcome basket offered.
The accommodation
The agriturism is located at the heart of the Cornia Valley, nestled in green countryside and surrounded by olive trees and fruit trees; the ideal spot for a truly relaxing break. The guest apartments, skilfully renovated, soundproofed and air conditioned, feature exposed wooden beams for a warm, cosy feel. The accommodation is furnished with a selection of restored antique pieces. Each apartment has its own table and chairs with umbrella, for enjoying meals surrounded by beautiful green nature. Guests also have access to a barbecue for preparing delicious grilled meats. Matteo, Serena, Ida and Agostino will be happy to suggest the most beautiful to visit in their area. The farm produces cereals (wheat, sunflowers, orzo), melons, IGP Toscano extra virgin olive oil and a fine unbottled wine. On site, guests can purchase the farm’s own olive oil and seasonal vegetables (also found in the welcome hamper provided for those staying for more than 5 nights). The structure is located in the countryside; ideal location to enjoy relaxation. The property is surrounded by country roads where the guests can walk, run or ride a bike in tranquillity. The surrounding area offers a host of beaches, as well as popular attractions such as the Baratti Gulf, and the Etruscan Hamlet of Populonia with its Archaeology Park and necropolises. A paradise for those who love the sea, nearby you’ll find the beaches of the Rimigliano Coastal Nature Park and the Sterpaia Coastal Park. Nestled on a peninsula, the city of Piombino is a terrace in the middle of the sea. In its historic centre you can explore Piombino’s past through the wealth of traditional architecture, from the “palazzo comunale” to the Palazzo Appiani, the Torrione, the Rivellino, and the castle. Typical hamlets not to be missed include Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto.
Activities and surrounding
In the vicinity of the property there are many beaches, among the most famous attractions: The Gulf of Baratti, The Etruscan village of Populonia with the Archaeological Park and the necropolis. A paradise for lovers of the sea are also the beaches of the Natural Coastal Park of Rimigliano and those of the Coastal Park of Sterpaia. Located on a promontory, the town of Piombino is a terrace in the middle of the sea. In the historical centre of the town it is possible to visit numerous testimonies of the past. Among the characteristic villages not to be missed are also Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto. All these villages come alive in the summer with festivals and village fairs. For an evening of pure relaxation it is also possible to take a dip in the thermal lake at Venturina Terme with its 36° water.
