The agriturismo
The farm is situated on a mountain of chestnut trees with a view of the valley and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Its rural location in one of the most promising regions of northern Tuscany guarantees easy access to all the services the visitor may need.
The position is very sunny and panoramic and from here you can enjoy the view of the whole valley and the surrounding villages.
The accommodation
Originally a farmstead, Villa il Gufo has been stylishly created retaining many original features, including high wooden ceilings and open fireplaces.
The 16 metre private pool offers an amazing view all over the valley.
The Villa is a 10-minute drive from S. Marcello.
The space
(220 m2: Sleeps 12 - 18) Large dining room of roughy 45sqm with kitchen, open fireplace and veranda: that is the room where normally large group have meals all together. This room was originally the farmhouse hayloft, which is above the former stable.
The whole Villa is divided into four independent acommodation two of which are connected by an internal stair. There are 4 living/dining rooms with open stone fireplace; 4 double bedrooms; 2 twin bedrooms; 2 double sofabeds; 4 bathrooms with shower, toilet, bidet, basin, hair dryer. Stone walls, high wooden ceilings with exposed beams; the kitchens are with electric oven, four hob stove, refrigerator, freezer, basin, kettle, toaster. Adjustable heating. Verandah with wooden roof and terracotta tiled floor (25m2). All Villa is sourrounded by private garden with outdoor furniture, sunbeds and fence.
The 16 metre pool, has sun all day and a view all over the valley. Open from May to September, it is 100 metres away from the accommodation in order to ensure the peace and quiet around the villa itself. The pool is private only for the group who rents the whole Farmhouse.
Activities and surrounding
The village of San Marcello Pistoiese is 650 m above sea level and is ten minutes by car or twenty minutes on foot from the farmhouse. In San Marcello there are several restaurants, 3 banks with ATMs, bars and pubs, many grocery stores, internet points and shops of all kinds.
Since the town is half an hour from Pistoia and 50 minutes from Florence and Lucca, it allows you to visit the cities of art in a single day with limited movements. The car is recommended, although you can reach Pistoia, Florence and Lucca from the bus station in the centre of San Marcello.
In 15 minutes by bus you can also reach the nearest train station which is Pracchia 10 km away.
It is also possible to visit the many ancient villages in the area, or do sports such as trekking, mountain biking, horseback riding.
