The agriturismo

Welcome to Fattoria di Pietrabuona: an ancient and large property located right in the heart of Tuscany, between Lucca and Florence, in the beautiful valley of the Svizzera pesciatina.

Staying in the historic farmhouses in Pietrabuona means living a magnificent experience in close contact with the uncontaminated nature of these places, tasting the delicious products of the land.

The accommodation

The estate is 5 km from Pescia, on a hill where are scattered the 7 ancient farms with the farmhouses renovated with modern comforts, respecting their architectural line.

Some farmhouses have only one accommodation, others have two or three: their names are those of the farmer who lived there (Peter's House, Gigi's House...) or recall the use they once had (stables, barn, etc.).

 

At guests' disposal also a splendid panoramic swimming pool, private paths for trekking and walks in the woods, disc golf course.

The farm is dedicated to the production of extra virgin olive oil, chestnuts and honey.

Activities and surrounding

Wellness and good food are at the centre of the managers' commitment, through the organization of convivial moments and personal growth experiences in nature.

 

For years engaged in the production of extra virgin olive oil, honey and chestnut flour, the managers offer on request tastings and snacks with farm products and local wines.

Wellness on the farm is also practiced through sport, for the structure houses a 19-hole disc golf course, unique for a farm in Italy. It is a reinterpretation of classic golf, with its rules, but played with a freesby. While practicing it you pass through the olive grove, through the woods and into a picnic area where you can also eat.

There is also a Nordic Walking Park with 7 paths, all inside the farm, for a total length of 6 km. On request you can receive the guide of an ANI certified instructor.

 

The property is only 5 km from Pescia, on the border between the provinces of Lucca (20 km) and Pistoia (30 km). Florence and Pisa are about 60 km away, Siena 90 km, the Cinque Terre an hour and a half by car, Versilia and the sea less than an hour away.

Not far away also the thermal baths of Montecatini, Grotta Giusti and Bagni di Lucca.

The fun is also guaranteed for children, with the Pinocchio Park, the Zoo of Pistoia, the Pythagoras Park and the Ciclinadia.

 

Discover Svizzera Pesciatina with Geocaching!

Geocaching is the technological evolution of treasure hunting: it is practiced partly on the web and partly outdoors; it consists in discovering points of historical, artistic and landscape interest in a territory through the use of GPS and smartphones, searching for the geographical coordinates of the places.
A GeoTour is a set of caches that lead the geocachers along a tour of a specific area: in each of the 10 Castella della Svizzera Pesciatina a multiple cache has been hidden... an exciting new way to discover an area rich in history and breathtaking landscapes!

Geocaching also on the farm

For a sporty and/or delicious experience without going too far, several caches have been hidden in the estate: just ask the managers for the coordinates!
