The agriturismo
3 km from Montecatini Terme, in the hilly countryside of the Nievole Valley, this organic, sustainable farm, in addition to flavoured oil and Vin Santo, produces an extra virgin olive oil which has won numerous international recognitions, available for guests to taste alongside typical Tuscan specialties.
The construction date of the main villa, nestled among the olive groves, is only partially known: the chapel dates back to the 1700s, while an ancient map from 1784 shows a villa smaller than the current one, the chapel and a single farmhouse, while the Medici coat of arms and the general architecture seem to indicate that the initial nucleus might date back to the XVI century.
The accommodation
The farmhouse has been carefully renovated to create 6luxurious apartments, on two or three levels. Each apartment includes a lounge, kitchenette (with fridge, oven, dishwasher...), 2 twin rooms and 2 bathrooms. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with towels, TVs, independent heating, wood for the fire and verandas with hill views.
Guests also have access to the games room, library, bicycles and mountain bikes, play area with various children's toys, picnic area, barbecue and scenic saltwater swimming pool.
The farm is set up for sustainability: it produces its own fertilisers, collects rain water and water from underground, processes waste water to produce clean water, boasts a synergic vegetable garden and uses photovoltaic panels.
