Agriturismo I Savelli

Located on a hill, with a splendid view of the Val d'Orcia, Agriturismo I Savelli is immersed in a garden of aromatic essences and in a landscape rich in wild flora and fauna (roe deer, hares, pheasants, kites and hares), which make it ideal for nature lovers.

The finely restored apartments of the ancient farmhouse feature classic terracotta floors and ceilings with wooden beams.

On the ground floor there are 3 apartments with patio and garden view. They consist of a double bedroom, living room with fireplace open on three sides, equipped kitchenette (fridge, oven, hob, dishwasher), sofa bed and satellite TV. One of the three apartments has a double bedroom with an additional bunk bed.


La Dépandance is located on the ground floor, adjacent to the farmhouse and composed of a large living room with kitchenette, TV corner with sofa, a bedroom with French window opening onto the garden and a bathroom with shower, a further bedroom double bed with French window overlooking the internal courtyard with bathroom and shower. The apartment has a private, covered outdoor space equipped with table, chairs and sun loungers. A wonderful view of the valley from the large windows of the apartment.

On the first floor there is a two-room apartment with a 45m2 panoramic terrace, the apartment consists of a bedroom, bathroom with shower and living room with kitchenette.

A further two-room apartment is located on the first floor, with a great view of the valley, it is equipped with a bedroom, bathroom with shower, living room with kitchenette.

All apartments are equipped with air conditioning for a fee, according to consumption.

Through the local stone walkways it is possible to access the infinity swimming pool available for all guests with a breathtaking view of the Val d'Orcia and the shared barbecue area.

Agriturismo I Savelli is located halfway between Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico and Castiglione d’Orcia. An ideal place from which to start to experience this part of Tuscany.

It is possible to discover the wonderful Val d'Orcia through nature itineraries:
From the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni you can descend towards the Orcia river, and then head towards another thermal station, Bagni San Filippo, where the White Whale will keep you company during your moments of relaxation. The route crosses the valley along the Via Francigena and passes through villages such as Castiglione d'Orcia, where you will learn stories and legends that match perfectly with the greenery of the valley and the heat of the thermal water. 

For food and wine lovers, the food & wine itineraries are a real must: 
starting with the Pecorino di Pienza, the famous cheese made with sheeps' milk with its sweet and slightly spicy flavour, you start your tasting of the Val d'Orcia typical flavors.  Going up towards the Amiata you will discover the olivastra di Seggiano and its olive oil. This particular olive tree is able to resist even the harsh winter temperatures of the valleys and its oil is characterized by its golden colour. 

Climbing towards the top of the ancient volcano you come across chestnut trees and the Monte Amiata PGI Chestnut, which has always been the main ingrediente in the diet of the mountain inhabitants. 

The strong bond of our family with the village of Pescina, cannot help but make us mention "la scottiglia". It is a "poor" recipe like many others in Tuscany, it's a meat soup (veal,pork and chichen) on stale bread. 

There are many historical itineraries in the Val d'Orcia: from San Quirico to Vivo d'Orcia in the heart of the Valley or discovering Monticchiello, Pienza and Montepulciano. 
San Quirico d'Orcia is one of the Valdorcian villages. Here, a walk in the beautiful garden of the Horti Leonini is a must. We also recommend you visit the Collegiata where hospitality was offered to pilgrims and travelers travelin along the Via Francigena. From San Quirico you can head to Castiglione d'Orcia, along the ancient Francigena. The village developed during the Middle Ages within its Rocca Aldobrandesca. In the center of the village you find the town hall and the main square. Going up towards the Amiata you can stop in Campiglia d'Orcia wiht its tower from which you can admire the whole valley and the ancient "Roccaccia", then you find Vivo d'Orcia, known for the freshness of its waters, for the ancient hermitage "Ermicciolo" and for the Contea Cervini, a small Renaissancev treasure chest hidden among the trees. 
Truly unmissable are Monticchiello, hamlet of the town of Pienza and Montepulciano, the main center of the Val di Chiana Senese known for its Renaissance palaces and its wine.  

Montalcino with its fortress and breathtaking view, as well as the great wines is a mandatory stop in the region.
