The agriturismo

The farmhouse L aRoverella takes its name from the large oak tree (Quercus Robur) that is at the center of the small family-run farm founded in 1967 by Jader and Pierino Machetti. In addition to being an accommodation facility we are producers of Extravirgin Olive Oil, IGT wine, Chianti DOCG, Vinsanto and Grappa.

Our guests will have the opportunity to walk along the vineyard and among the olive trees and follow closely the agricultural work carried out during the seasons of the year, such as the harvest of grapes and olives, pruning of vines and olive trees, the sowing of grain, the transformation of 'grapes into wine in the CELLAR-MUSEUM.

I recommend our stay to those who need to unplug. Recommended for short and long periods, smart working, relaxing, walking, hiking, biking.

 

 

The accommodation

The three apartments we have can accommodate from 2 to 4/5 people, with garden and entrance totally independent, with living room with kitchenette, two bedrooms, bathroom with shower interamete equipped.

Our guests are given a warm welcome by the owners, with wine and oil produced on the farm and a homemade cake (currently suspended for COVID19 safety) . The owner, is proud to let guests visit his CELLAR-MUSEUM and photographic exhibition on the peasant culture and to tell the history of the building, which dates back to 1300. In some periods of the year guests can assist in the various activities of the farm such as: grape harvest, olive picking.

Through a path on the side of the vineyard, you can reach the top of the hill Poggio Tondo where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Siena and its surrounding landscape.

A family farm in beautiful Tuscany where wine and olive oil are produced. Very nice host family, lots of information about the surrounding area (e.g. where to go swimming) and the farm, tips for excursions etc. We felt very comfortable and almost at home.
