The agriturismo
La Fonte is a small and ancient stone farm, located on a hillside on which the medieval castle of the Municipality of Radicondoli stretches out, with a view of Volterra, San Gimignano and many other castles and towns located on the surrounding hills. Woods, pastures, vines, olive trees, fruit trees surround the farm which is almost "between earth and sky" and dominates the magnificent valley of the river Cecina.
The accommodation
The agriculture practiced at "Podere la Fonte" is organic, with production of cereals, grapes, olives, hay, fruit and vegetables, medicinal plants. Part of the productions are transformed in the food laboratory set up on the farm. The production of cereals, grapes, olives, hay, fruit and vegetables, officinal plants, are controlled by ICEA (Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification).
Il Noce Apartment
Totally independent apartment for four people. In addition to the two double bedrooms (one with private bathroom) there is a kitchen-dining room with wood-burning fireplace, and another bathroom. An ideal base for an idyllic holiday in any season.
The Susino Apartment
A comfortable independent apartment for two people, well equipped for all seasons.
The agritourism activity is now more than twenty years old. Careful attention is paid to the restoration and maintenance of the entire stone and brick building which is the heart of the farm. The agricultural activity that is carried out at La Fonte is intended primarily for the production of products that serve the self-sufficiency of the farm and the house.
Activities and surrounding
For groups of at least 4 people we can also offer catering in the rooms on the ground floor of the farmhouse.
The food we serve is mostly composed of our own organic products, such as wheat, spelt, vegetables, fruit, herbs, oil and wine. For breakfast we have our own jams and organic eggs that we buy from third parties, as well as many other organic products that we do not produce ourselves.
