The agriturismo
Agriturismo Podere Padolecchie is immersed in the biodiversity of thePasserini Organic Farm, which is oriented toward environmental sustainability and the enhancement of local resources. The rooms are located within the walls of an ancient Leopoldina in the Val di Chiana.
You will be welcomed by the hostess, Sara.
You can cool off in the bio-lake, relax in the yoga room or read in the library, visit the organic farm's fields and workshops and sample their products.
The accommodation
The farmhouse has three rooms, two doubles and a larger one for up to 4 guests. In each one you will find an original fairy tale inspired to Sara by the beauty of the fields, furnishings made with reclaimed materials by the industrious and artistic hands of Zannart (Susi Zannini), and little pampering from our territories. Breakfast is sweet and savory based on farm and local products.
By choice you will find an internet connection via LAN in each room (including cable).
The private bathroom in each room is equipped with ecological liquid soap, solid soap, hair dryer, linen.
The pillows are especially relaxing, of buckwheat husk sewn by Dormiglio handmade pillows.
In the common room is a pop-up kitchenette, a refrigerator, a table reserved and personalized for each room, and a fireplace. A kettle with organic and fair trade teas and herbal teas is also available.
On the second floor, guests will find a cozy yoga and relaxation room . You will only be able to enter without shoes, and the real live parquet floor will massage your feet. One will find floor cushions, yoga mats, a comfortable couch and a small selection of books concerning spirituality. The room is suitable for personal meditations, as well as for hosting small groups by reservation.
There is an old bread oven, which housed the doughs of the entire local community, opening its arms to anyone who wanted to bake. Pizzas are baked for the events and parties held on the farm, and there is also bread making on the schedule using the farm's own flours and oilseeds.
Culture is also cultivated at Podere Padolecchie, because they believe in beauty, sharing and reading. Therefore, a small library has been created, made available for reading and reference to guests but also to anyone who wishes. Titles cover chosen and selected areas such as Agriculture, Art, Personal Growth, Photography, Music, Nature, Peoples and Cultures, Spirituality and Travel. One will also be able to find a large collection of Trail Maps, books concerning the Chiana Valley, travel magazines and more. A "Listening" corner has also been set up in the reading room, where one can listen to the selection of music CDs with the handy padigione headphones.
Activities and surrounding
The bio-lake has the look and substance of a real natural pond, with its life, its scents of earth and water, its colors of Earth and Life. It is completely natural, purified only with oxygenation pumps, volcanic lapilli and aquatic plants. The lake is 1.50 meters deep, surrounded by a stone embankment and surrounded by fields.
The farm is part of the "Semishells" network along with the Biopuntozero farm. Together they created a workshop where they process all gluten-free grains, from field to table: they dry, clean, hull and package legumes, millet, buckwheat, oil seeds, and any other gluten-free products.
In the store, made out of what was once the Chianina cows' barn, you can buy all the certified organic products and even a few little extras from the local area. Occasionally, they also organize tastings of farm and local products, and other small events, even upon request.
