Torre Doganiera is an agritourism, but we are also a family: we work and live in this protected area in the province of Siena. If you come to us, you will be greeted by the evergreen holm oak woods of the Montagnola Senese, in a medieval tower with elegant peasant architecture built over the centuries all around it, telling the story of how people lived in the hills of Siena in the Middle Ages. You can stay in a wooded reserve, the beginning of the Val d'Elsa, and run with your eyes to the horizon over Volterra, caressing the silver leaves of our olive groves. The soundtrack to this splendid picture are the voices of nature.

Choosing Torre Doganiera is not just about taking a farm vacation, it is about encountering a sustainable lifestyle. Here, the surrounding environment is an essential element to fully experience a stay at Torre Doganiera. The watchwords are green, clean air and above all respect for the environment. The sun supplies hot water(solar thermal) and provides electricity(photovoltaic), so guests can safely use the devices and appliances in the accommodations!

There are 3 rustic but elegant apartments available to guests : the Sunflowers, the Olive Trees and the Tower.
The first two are located on the ground floor (Girasoli and Ulivi, ideal for 2 and 3 people), while the Torre (4 people), is a real medieval house on three floors, panoramic and very charming.

A room with bathroom is also available, with separate entrance on the ground floor, private bathroom in the room, private outdoor space equipped with garden furniture.

In any apartment, you will find well-kept and well-equipped indoor and outdoor spaces: each dwelling has its own entrance, private bathroom, private outdoor space, garden and pergola for each accommodation. The kitchens are spacious and well-stocked, the living/living rooms offer comfortable sofas, and the rooms are furnished with elegant architectural solutions that reconcile the rustic style of the house with all the comforts for a must-have vacation experience. Kitchens are equipped with coffee makers and urzier, and in the Girasoli and Ulivi also dishwashers. In all apartments there is a safe, satellite TV, DVD reader. The Room has a small "self" breakfast nook , with refrigerator, capsule coffee machine . The breakfast equipment is provided by the farmhouse so that you can enjoy it on your own.

The apartments are naturally cool in summer and equipped with a good temperature in winter (only the Tower has separate heating). The entire structure is embraced by greenery: all accommodations overlook the gardens. The ceilings feature brick vaults on the ground floor and wooden beams for the tower.

From the top floor there is a breathtaking view of the green Alta Valdelsa where you can admire stupendous and unforgettable sunsets.

Iris Room: practical, elegant, relaxing, green energies. This is a beautiful, colorful and environmentally conscious room with double bed, kitchenette, private bathroom in the room and independent ground floor entrance from a green garden full of flowers, such as Irises.

Room features:
25 sqm, double bedroom ( 1 additional bed) with rustic wooden closet and a beautiful brick arch framing the lovely kitchenette. The kitchen, practical and colorful, will make guests feel at home, with everything they need and with an eye to consumption as well: there are induction hotplates available, as at Torre Doganiera we produce energy as carefully as possible, with photovoltaic for the devices powered by correte elettrica and solar thermal for hot water. There is a large sink, refrigerator, capsule coffee maker, kettle, pots, dishes, cups and colorful glasses for a sweet awakening, a cheerful happy hour or a nice cup of tea! The bathroom is private, in the room, separated by an ante-bathroom.
Internet connection: fiber (surrounded by greenery, but also smartworking, if desired!).
The front door is private, there is only one step separating from the front garden, where you can relax while looking at the panorama of Alta Valdelsa, which is good for the eyes and the heart.

Torre Doganiera is the optimal choice for experiencing nature, art cities, small villages, vineyards, cultural and food and wine routes . This tower-house is surrounded by a beautiful ancient forest, where you can walk to reach hermitages and castles on trekking routes, take regenerating walks or simply feel better in silence and meditation, being embraced by the trees.

The area of the Montagnola Senese is a protected area; the facility is located far from sources of light pollution: that's why it is an ideal observation point for stargazers beingequipped for astrophotography.

Here, thanks to the organization of specific activities, such as day/nightnaturalistic observation , it is easy to see and meet wildlife in the area, such as foxes, deer and roe deer.

Riding stables and bike rentals are a few kilometers away: ideal for getting around on two wheels without polluting, reaching the towns and small villages of Casole d'Elsa and neighboring municipalities.

Pievescola is the hamlet just 1 km from the farmhouse. Here there are 2 bars, pastry shop, pizzeria and restaurant, a small market, pharmacy and post office. Casole d'Elsa is the town of Torre Doganiera. Here you can visit the archaeological museum, church and a very scenic fortress . The villages of Mensano and Monteguidi are worth a visit with their quaint little alleys from medieval castles, full of flowers and immersed in the Tuscan countryside.

For shopping lovers : Colle Val d'Elsa (15 minutes) and Poggibonsi (25 minutes) where you can find supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and pizzerias, museums and churches.

From the farmhouse Torre Doganiera you can reach wineries and landscapes of Chianti, but also the most charming Tuscan art cities: Siena (35 min east), Florence (1 h north), San Gimignano (30 min) and Volterra (45 min west).

For those who want to spend a day at the beach, the nearest seaside resort can be reached in 1 h west.

On the other hand, if you are a spa lover, the surrounding area also offers a biolago (geothermal area) and free springs or spas, such as Petriolo, Le Caldane, Rapolano Terme)
