Agriturismo Frallarenza

The family-run agriturismo offers two guest apartments with separate entrances, each with a canopy where you can eat or read a book.

Frallarenza is a quiet and peaceful place, nestled in the countryside of Orvieto, away from traffic.

The farmhouse is surrounded by alarge garden where you will find the swimming pool, two ping pong tables (one in the garden, one indoors), and a masonry barbecue with a large table.

We organize cooking classes and dinners on request, courses in terracotta and ceramics and handloom weaving.

We produce a very good organic extra virgin olive oil from our 500 olive trees.

It has a charging station for electric vehicles.

Between 2002 and 2003, we renovated and enlarged the original farmhouse, taking care to mantain the architectural style and the building materials typical of this region: stone, wood, terracotta tiles. So,in addition to the apartment where we live, we now have two apartments for our guests, each with an independent entrance and a porch under which you can have meals or read a book.

During the winter of 2016 we renovated the kitchens of the apartments putting a much more spacious fridge and freezer, an induction cooker, an electric oven and a new extractor hood, thus taking the first step towards independence from gpl.
During the spring of 2017 we finished a new ambitious work: removing the gas boilers used for heating and domestic hot water, replacing them with a centralized air/water heat pump (which is also used for the summer air conditioning) and new more efficient solar panels that, thanks to photovoltaic plant of 32.4 kWp already realized in 2010, make us independent from gas and virtually our farm use only renewable energy!

The small apartment (50 sq.m.) consists of a kitchen-living room with fireplace and 2 single sofa bed, a double bedroom, and a large bathroom with a washing machine for the exclusive use of guests.
It is made ​​in compliance with all laws to ensure accessibility by persons with disabilities.
This apartment can accommodate up to 4 people.

The large apartment (106 sq.m.) has a large kitchen-living room with fireplace (you can go on for beauty, but you can not cook) and a loft where they are easily two beds, three double bedrooms (one large with third bed and private bath) and a large bathroom which has both a shower and bathtub and a washing machine for the exclusive use of guests.
This apartment can accommodate up to 10 people.

Both the appartments have LCD TV and a Free Wide Band Wireless Internet Connection.
Our kitchens have all you need to cook by yourself (coffee maker, dishes, glasses, pots, and so on). You will also find some basic ingredients to prepare breakfast (for the first day) and meals by yourself (coffee, sugar, milk, lemon, tea, butter, biscuits and a homemade cake; salt, pepper, red hot pepper, garlic, onion, a bit of our extra vergin olive oil, vinegar).

Our farmhouse is surrounded by an expansive garden, that allows our guests to enjoy peaceful hours, and children to play freely in a safe place. There is a area equipped with a barbecue and picnic table.

The swimming pool (12x5 meters) is surrounded by shady trees and is located in a quiet and secluded flower garden.
A ping pong table is in the garden, near the swimming pool and another one is indoor, in a large room available for guests, so it is possible to play when it’s bad weather.
Moreover, in our large kitchen, also equipped with a fire-wood oven, we organize cooking classes and dinner on request: you can learn with us to make "fettuccine", "gnocchi", pizza and many other Italian traditional recipes, and have a nice dinner with us. For all those who are interested in craftsmanship, we organize terracotta and pottery classes, as well as handloom-weaving classes.

At our small family running farm accomodation near Orvieto we offer to our guests a peaceful, quiet place where it is still possibile to experience a now forgotten atmosphere, so distant from the rhythms of common modern life... If you are looking to get away from it all – no noise, no crowds, no worries – then this is the place to be!

Frallarenza offer countless opportunities for walking in the beautiful woodlands and vineyards of the Orvieto region, with kilometres of trails on which you can also ride a mountain bike.

Animal lovers will enjoy the discreet company of our four cats Alice, Lilli, the brothers Baloo and Pepe, and the exuberant and festive company of our two Australian shepherd dogs, Gingi and her daughter Nuvola.
We also have a family of chickens and Streicher and Dark Campbell ducks (of course they are only for eggs and beauty, they will die of old age!) who enjoy life in a large fenced pasture with a pool with water lily and lotus plants.

Deep in the heart of green Umbria, in the typical highlands of the Orvieto region: little fields of olive trees and vineyard revived from the oak tree woods which still dominate the countryside and surround our house. Nevertheless, Frallarenza is only 15 km from Orvieto and A1 highway gate, and 5 km from Ficulle, a medieval little village known for its traditional terracotta pottery.

We are located very close to the provincial borders of Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, close to the A-1 freeway (between Orvieto and Fabro-Ficulle exits, both 20 minutes far from us) and only 4 km far from a small village called Allerona Scalo where you will find supermarket, pharmacy, post office, ATM, bar and pizza too!

Frallarenza is an ideal starting point from which one can visit many famous art-towns like Orvieto, Siena, Firenze and Rome, and many unique but unknown and time-forgotten villages. When you are here, we are always available to provide you with additional information and current conditions of the many sites in the area.
