San Venanzo (Terni)
Although our Agriturismo-Country House is called la Fornace, “The Furnace”, you will find it located in a very cool place; 435 meters above sea level surrounded by trees, a beautiful vineyard and with a large pool (7x14 m). There are 8 hectares of property that immediately surround the Agriturismo.
The facility is exposed to the sun throughout the day. This has made it possible to harness clean energy through the use of solar panels that ensure environmental friendliness and energy conservation.
A total of 6 apartments are available, each with air conditioning/air conditioning, an LCD TV, kitchenette, refrigerator and oven:
Orange: is the largest, has two double bedrooms, one of which has a double bed, a closet, a desk, and two bedside tables with lamps. The other has a double bed, two bedside tables with lamps, two built-in closets and a desk. Two bathrooms with shower stalls, a storage room. The living room is very spacious and bright with two windows, equipped with a kitchenette, refrigerator, oven, a wooden table, a corner wooden cabinet, a sofa bed, a fireplace and a wood stove. 5 plus 2 beds.
Light Blue: The light blue accommodation has a bright double bedroom with a wooden French window, two bedside tables with lamps, a closet. A bathroom with a shower stall. A living room with a built-in table, kitchenette, oven, refrigerator and a beautiful wrought-iron wood stove. 2 beds.
Lilac: has a large bedroom with a double queen-size bed, two bedside tables with lamps and a closet and desk. A bathroom equipped with sanitary facilities and a shower for people with disabilities. The living room has a kitchenette with an oven, refrigerator and built-in table, as well as a lovely fireplace. 2 plus 1 sleeps.
Yellow: is spacious and sunny with two double bedrooms. One, which is very bright because it has two windows has a beautiful wooden double bed, two bedside tables with lamps, a closet, a dresser with mirror, and a baby bed. The other double bedroom has a double bed, a window, two bedside tables with lamps, a closet and a desk; a bathroom with a shower stall. Finally, a living room has a wooden kitchenette with a refrigerator and oven, an extendable wooden table, a fireplace, and a double sofa bed. 4 plus 2 beds for children.
Rosa: is the most intimate of the accommodations; it is a studio apartment with the space optimized, equipped with a kitchenette, with refrigerator and electric oven, a built-in table, a double sofa bed, a closet and a terracotta wood stove, and a bathroom. It is very bright as it has wooden glass doors and a window. 2 the beds (sofa bed).
Verde Acqua: is very cozy equipped with a bedroom with a closet, two bedside tables with lamps, a built-in bookcase and a desk; a bathroom and a living room with a kitchenette, with a refrigerator and oven, an extendable wooden table, a fireplace and a double sofa bed. It is very bright because it has a wooden glass door and a lovely arched window. 2 plus 2 beds.
Multi-purpose room of 60 square meters with TV, tables, sofa and armchairs, and a fireplace.
A beautiful and still uncontaminated landscape with greenery, fresh air, silence and views unchanged for centuries. In San Vito Castello there is a medieval castle and church, both in need of restoration. From the castle it is possible to see half of Umbria: Perugia, Assisi, Mount Subasio and all the central northern part of Umbria.
For walkers there are pathways varying from 3 to 6 hours in length and which pass through country side and forests and connect San Vito with other villages and with San Venanzo. For mountain bikers there are country lanes and tracks, perfect to see the local scenery. For lovers of fishing or swimming there is the Fersenone river which divides the provinces of Perugia and Terni and which flows through the San Vito area creating various pools where it possible to fish or swim. The most important of which are “Il Borgone del Diavolo”, “Vivaio” and “Borgo del Mazzo”.
Along the river the is an old mill called “Rota Prona” which is a nice walk from our agriturismo and where there is a new wooden bridge to cross the river. For those who are interested in health there sources where there is water which is rich in iron, helpful to treat conditions such as anemia or other conditions related to a lack of iron. The most famous source is “Acqua Forte” and is known in all of Umbria.
For those interested in spirituality there is the sanctuary of “Madonna dell’Olivo” where there is a source of blessed water and where a miracle is said to have taken place. Within the San Venanzo district there is the medieval village of Poggio Aquilone and Sette Frati park of Mount Peglia, the volcanology museum and other characteristic villages such as Collelungo San Vito in Monte has an optimum location which allows tourists to easily visit all of Umbria and central Italy. It is about 30 km from Perugia, 50 km from Assisi, 35 km from Orvieto, 30 km from Todi and 30 km from Trasimeno Lake. It is also ideally situated for who wishes to visit the Italian cities of Rome and Florence. Take the E45 to the motorway junction towards Rome or Florence. We are practically half way between the most beautiful Italian cities, making them easy to reach in a short time.
