Belluno (Belluno) Code
Halfway between the world of Venice and that of the North, set in an agricultural estate dominated by the old manor house, Casa de Bertoldi is one of the first agritourism establishments in the province of Belluno. Like a balcony overlooking the Dolomites, Casa de Bertoldi combines the charm of an old country residence with easy access to the splendid surrounding nature for a truly different and complete holiday.
A point of reference for more than thirty years for those who really want to know and appreciate the cuisine of Belluno and Veneto, Casa de Bertoldi is characterized by homemade food following the seasonality of products coming mostly from the farm and partly from the territory.
Comfortable, simple and welcoming, our apartments have been obtained by renovating a part of the farm buildings. Arranged on two floors with living room and kitchenette, they overlook the inner courtyard of the farm and are all equipped with a wood-burning kitchen where you can cook and in the colder months give the sweet warmth of wood. Our accommodations allow you to experience a truly different holiday in harmony with nature and the surrounding area.
In the kitchen, the quality of the products and simplicity are the main elements of a style that has its roots in the poor cuisine of the Belluno countryside, drawing inspiration from the more elaborate recipes from the Dolomites in the north of the province as well as from the more refined Venetian and Italian culture in the south.
With direct access from the courtyard, the apartment has a bedroom with bathroom on the first floor with two single beds or a double bed, as desired. In the living room there is a decomposable sofa that easily converts into two single beds or a double bed as needed. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook at home and in the cold months the stove as well as further heating the environment can be used for cooking with wood, as in the past.
In the area of the old barn, where this apartment is now, lived for many years respectively the cows Mèrica and Prima, both with auspicious names. Mèrica comes from America, which for the farmers in the Belluno area, as well as in most of Italy, represented the dream and the hope for a better future.
CANEVÌN
The apartment, also facing the porch, can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people in single beds. On the ground floor there is a living room with kitchen and two single sofa beds; on the upper floor there is a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom.
Canevìn in Belluno dialect means "cantinetta". Actually, "Gino" lived here for a long time, a horse abandoned by the German army in retreat at the end of the Second World War, which had been adopted by the local farmers. It is said that when he heard his name he smiled a lot and showed all his teeth.
The apartment is on two floors and has a double bed in the bedroom on the first floor and a double sofa bed on the ground floor. This apartment, which overlooks the courtyard, is also equipped with a cheap wood-burning stove which, if desired, helps to heat the apartment but can be used for cooking.
This room takes its name from the fact that for some reason it was the favourite place of the swallows, who returned here every spring to nest. The Prima cow lived here for a long time. The birth of the cow was experienced by the whole community with anxious anticipation and Prima was probably named after her as a good omen so that she would be only the first of many daughters to follow.
The apartment, on two floors, is the most spacious of the structure and can accommodate up to 7 people. On the upper floor there are three bedrooms, one with a double bed and two with two single beds each, plus a bathroom. On the ground floor there is a large living room-kitchen and another bathroom for the disabled. The apartment overlooks the porch and is equipped with an economic wood stove, which can also be used for cooking.
In the peasant civilization of Belluno, the Tieda was one of the most important places of the company along with the house and the barn and was used daily as a deposit of wagons, fasoi (beans) and other vegetables. On important occasions, such as baptisms or weddings, the Tieda was tidied up and decorated with old branches and flowers in order to host parties attended by the whole community.
The apartment, distributed on two floors, consists of a living room with kitchenette and a sofa bed on the ground floor and a bedroom with two single beds and bathroom on the first floor. As for the other apartments of the structure, the living room is equipped with a kitchenette and a cheap wood stove.
The talvà that overlooked the whole stable and the tieda was nothing more than the hayloft. Where this apartment is now, there used to be an opening in the ceiling through which you could access the talvà and from which the hay was thrown, then distributed throughout the stable.
