The agriturismo
The agriturismo is made up of an independent cottage set in the farm’s Prosecco DOCG vineyards which, together with the chestnut woods, cover the hills. From here, lulled by the sound of the wind and the chirping of birds, guests can view the village of Rolle, with its bells that have traditionally cadenced the work in the fields, the surrounding hills and Mount Cesen.
The small, old house was once the residence and workshop of artisans who made the famous local "olle", namely earthenware pots for domestic use, and was later used as a hay barn.
Guests at the agriturismo can gain experience in vine growing and wine production, by adopting a row of Prosecco DOCG vines!
The accommodation
The renovated farmhouse, which has preserved its old terracotta floors and the opening for loading/unloading hay on the upper floor (now a bright window in the bedroom), covers two floors: the ground floor is home to the sitting room-kitchen, with a stone fireplace, while upstairs is the double bedroom and bathroom with shower.
The outside of the residence, clad with local stone, is equipped with a wooden table and bench under a shady scented pergola of Isabella grape, from which guests can enjoy the sunset while they sip a glass of the farm’s own Prosecco or dine in the midst of nature.
The house is accessible by way of a dirt track, under an archway of vines, in a separate location from the main farm, far from busy thoroughfares to guarantee privacy and quiet.
Activities and surrounding
Guests can watch the vine growing activities on the farm. They also have the option of adopting a vine row, to tend toduring their stay and to follow from home, culminating with personalised bottles of prosecco at the end of the harvest.
Halfway between Venice and the Ampezzo Dolomites, the village of Rolle has preserved its traditional winemaking vocation and has recently been named an FAI (Italian National Trust) site. The hilly area is ideal for excursions on foot or by bike and the nearby Prealps offer long distance skiing in winter and walks of different levels in summer.
