Loc. Ariano 24, Valeggio sul Mincio 37067 Valeggio sul Mincio (Verona)
The farm holiday house is located in the old village of Ariano in the charming Morainic hills, scene of the Independence Wars in 1800 which echo throughout these gently rolling hills, in the heart of nature and history, near the Garda Lake.
As in ancient times, still today the estate is surrounded by an old stone wall built in the 16th century for defence. The buildings date back to the same period and have been accurately restored preserving the original simple rustic style. Features include thick walls, exposed beams, fine fireplaces and valuable original historic objects.
The estate built in the 16th century, was originally a quiet convent of nuns that stood solitary in the peaceful and calm surrounding countryside. Later, over the centuries the estate became a farmhouse with a barn for cereals, sheds and stables which are still preserved today. Since old times whole families, from generation to generation, have lived here.
This farmhouse has a suggestive history and a strongly evocative atmosphere. During your stay in this old house, you can perceive and almost feel the mark of history. The farm holiday house covers a large surface area both in terms of the house and of the outdoor area.
There are five spacious twin rooms full of light, with heating, air conditioning, bathroom and television. Additional beds can be added on request.
In addition five bedsits with kitchenette have been recently built, one of which is accessible to the disabled.
Finally, within the ancient walls there is a large riding school, a playground for small children and a covered car park.
This is one of the main attractions of La Staffa. The horse riding school is in one of the most delightful parts of the estate and it includes a well lit grass jumping course, a ring and learning arena. The stables are large with boxes for the horses. In addition guests have the opportunity of riding the beautiful horses owned by La Staffa.

The Scaligeri and Visconti families left a mark here during their dominion, as they did in the nearby town of Valeggio sul Mincio. This town is not only famous for its culinary tradition, in particular for the "tortellini", but also for the beautiful castle of the Scaligero family which dominated the valley until the 13th century.
