viale san pio da pietrelcina, 82020 Pietrelcina (Benevento) Code
The old farm, born in 2000 with the new millennium, has an ancient heart.
A return to the land and farming traditions, for an agritourism farm located in Roman Piana, a sacred place where St. Pio of Pietrelcina (the beloved Padre Pio) received his first stigmata.
The agritourism is nestled in the Benevento countryside, far from smog and noise, offering its genuine products from crops and livestock.
The old farm is neither a hotel nor a restaurant; the owners are proud farmers who run the business passed down from generation to generation.
The farm has two quadruple rooms with B&B and also half board.
It offers typical cuisine with the specialties of grilled meat, appetizers rich in homemade cold cuts , vegetables, cheeses, various traditional delicacies and the famous artichokes of Pietrelcina (Slow Food presidium). All products are strictly homegrown, an activity undertaken with a course aimed at higher quality production, starting with greater attention to animal welfare. Among the many specialties to enjoy: fresh homemade pasta in the form of cavatelli, fusilli, gramigna, orecchiette and various local desserts. Cured meats include the exquisite capicolli, pancette, sopressate, pressatelle, sausages, and hams. The traditional Campanian cuisine of the farmhouse restaurant recalls distant times, made up of first courses and simple dishes. Each dish is made according to an art capable of providing each ingredient with a particular taste, the secret of which lies in the careful choice of the correct dosage of seasonings and the shrewdness of cooking times.
The farm allows its guests to visit the herds of animals, which are cared for daily according to the zootechnical tradition of the area. In the farm's stables there are different types of farm animals including cows, sheep, horses, ponies, donkeys, wild boars, rabbits and birds of various species.
The farmhouse is located just 2 km from Pietrelcina, Padre Pio's birthplace.
100 meters away is the little chapel of Piana Romana where the saint had his first stigmata.
At 10 km you can reach Benevento where you can visit numerous historical monuments.
It is only 4 km from the Maitine Zoo; 5 km from the Tammaro River, a destination for quad bike excursions. During the week (no holidays and Saturdays) it is possible to rent a quad bike and go on excursions in the surrounding area: a thrill to be experienced, on the four wheels of this vehicle, which manages to cross dirt tracks and passages, until reaching unforgettable panoramic places.
