Montefiascone (Viterbo)
In the heart of Tuscia, between Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, rise two farms, born from the idea of creating an oasis of peace and tranquility in an area with a strong vocation for tourism.
Inside the two farmhouses are apartments ideal for hosting couples, groups or families, as they are functionally autonomous and equipped with kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
Around the farmhouses lives a small family-run self-sufficient farm, from which certified natural and organic products are obtained: extra-virgin olive oil, many vegetables, seeds and graminaceous plants with which the animals that raze in the farmyard are fed.
The farm is also an educational farm, where educational and cultural paths can be undertaken emphasizing the importance of consuming traditional and organic products, possibly zero-meter. From the energy point of view, renewable sources are used wherever possible.
Just 8 km away is Lake Bolsena, which offers numerous water activities such as snorkeling, fishing, surfing, sailing, water skiing, and canoeing.
There are also several mountain bike circuits surrounding the lake's shores or entering pristine forests.
Horseback riding tours start from the stables located at the edge of the lake and branch out to all parts of the Perlata Valley.
In the evening, it is possible to participate in the events organized in the historic center of the town: wine fair, medieval historical parade, uphill barrel race, flag-wavers with trumpets and drums. In addition to this, there is the medieval cellar tour with guided tastings of wine, local cheeses and cold cuts, glasses under the stars or romantic walks by the lake.
The farm is located 3 min. from the town center of Montefiascone, 10 min. from Lake Bolsena, 10 min. from Civita di Bagnoregio (the dying city), 10 min. from Capodimonte, 15 min. from Viterbo and its thermal baths (also mentioned by Dante in his Divina), 25 min. from Orvieto, 45 min. from the sea(Tarquinia with its Etruscan necropolis), 40 min. from Saturnia, 1 hr. from Rome, 1 hr. from Perugia, 1 hr. from Montalcino, 1 hr. from Montepulciano, 1 hr. 30 min. from Siena.
