The Cascina Ronchi, located in the hills of Val San Martino, offers hospitality in rooms and a homely and genuine cuisine.
The farm of 4 hectares, boasts a long family tradition in the cultivation of vineyards for the production of red and white muscatel wines. In addition to the wine-growing and wine-producing activity, there is a small breeding of cattle, goats, pigs and low-rise animals for the catering on the farm, such as delicious cold cuts or fresh goat's cheese.
This historic home, dating to the 17th century with hayloft and stable from the mid-1700s, has kept its original simple architecture and rooms built in stone and wood. A timeless place.
Vacationing here takes you back in time, to a simple lifestyle in contact with nature: the silence of night, the forest, vineyard, scent of rain, cold winter months.
3 rooms for guests are found on the first floor, which formerly hosted the farmer tenants and his family. All have bath with shower, and keep their original structure. By salvaging the former top floor, all have a mezzanine for the bath or a sleeping accommodation. One of the rooms also has an ancient fireplace.
The dining room on the ground floor, with its large fireplace, in an inviting space for gathering.
Also on the ground floor you’ll find the kitchen, which is original with its fireplace, though with modern equipment.
We prepare traditional simple food from Bergamo: polenta with roasts, stews, stracotti, casseroles, grills, roasted rabbit, punta ripiena, bolliti, bread and cakes from our ovens and fresh homemade pasta. Enjoy fresh tastes from the past.
The cellar safeguards wine treasures and cold meats which me make onsite.
The rest of the building houses the stables, the hayloft, the salami workshops and the dairy, which produces fresh goat's cheese, mature cheeses and "formaggelle", a famous Sardinian dessert.
The farm occupies 4 hectares; 1 is devoted to the vineyards and the rest are forests. Our traditional vineyards date to the 16th century and are currently being restored: now Merlot and Cabernet S. for red vine varieties and Moscato Giallo and Bianco for white ones. Both IGT wines are produced.
Our agriturismo, found 14 km from Bergamo, at the foothills of Monte Linzone, is surrounded by many trails, historical hamlets, and Romanesque monuments. In short time you can reach the Valle Imagna, the Valle Brembana, Pontida with its historic Benedictine Abbey, Sotto Il Monte, Caprino and Lecco.
Nearby are sports facilities (pools, stables and golf course), malls (Orio Center and Curno) and the Parco Faunistico delle Cornelle di Valbrembo known for its white tigers.
The agriturismo enjoys an excellent location, around twenty minutes from Orio al Serio Airport and a few minutes from the nearest train station, for quick and easy access to Lombardy’s main towns and cities, such as Bergamo, Brescia and Milan, as well as Lake Como. An hour takes you to Lake Garda and Lake Iseo.”
