Cosio Valtellino (Sondrio) Code
Located in Dossa, a small mountain hamlet, the agriturismo is surrounded by the woodland of the Orobie Alps and just 5 minutes from Morbegno. In this peaceful oasis, guests can enjoy strolling along the pathways of the Orobie Park and exploring the agriturismo's bilberry, currant, olive and vegetable crops. The culinary delights on offer include a range of typical Valtellina dishes ? pizzoccheri pasta and polenta taragna ? and menus basted on porcini and chanterelle mushrooms, fresh vegetables, grilled local meats, homemade tagliatelle and many other specialities.
The agriturismo is made up of 3 double rooms with mansard roofs, all with private bathrooms and independent entrances, overlooking a large terrace where guests can enjoy breakfast. The restaurant seats 30 and has a large open fireplace at its centre. It has a fondue bourguignonne table and a small separate bar perfect for candlelit dinners. The original wooden fittings have been maintained and the walls of the restaurant showcase a set of antique frescos discovered during the renovation process and now carefully restored: the original house number, Madonna with child praying, and a sundial. There is also a wooden veranda offering beautiful views of the Dossa woods, perfect for evening dining outdoors. The food is mainly grown and reared on the farm itself: the agriturismo rears animals for meat and milk (goats, sheep and hens). There is also a large area with a pond where ducks and geese roam freely, and a paddock with horses nearby. All animals are fed with natural products.
In the surrounding area, guests can explore the ancient hamlet of Dossa, Valgerola, the road to Vallate Abbey, the Gran Via delle Orobie trail and the Orobie Park, the Camera Picta and the Homo Salvadego museum.
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.
