A family-run farm, nestled in the green Chianti Hills, just 25 km from Florence.
Agriturismo Podere delle Arti offers accommodations in authentic Tuscan style, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, vegetable gardens and woods full of nature trails, all part of the 7 hectares of land on which the farm and our goat and poultry farms extend.
Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the most authentic rural tradition of Tuscany, characterized by living off the fruits produced by the labor of these lands. Great strength is the total self-sufficiency: electricity is produced by photovoltaic panels, heating is done with wood from the forest and solar panels,a well meets the needs of external water supply.
The farmhouse consists of 3 different apartments:
La Stalla is a large, cozy and rustic 32-square-meter studio apartment with exposed beams, double bed, dining table, kitchenette and comfortable bathroom. It is located on the ground floor and overlooks the south-facing garden with deck chairs, where you can eat, sunbathe and enjoy the view of the farm. An extra bed can be added upon request.
The Barn is a romantic 23-square-meter studio apartment with exposed beams and pitched ceiling; it has a double bed, kitchenette and bathroom. With its location on the 1st floor it has a beautiful view of our farmlands and the mountains behind them. The apartment is ideal for couples who want to treat themselves to a few days in a discreet environment. Externally there is a west-facing terrace with tables and chairs, ideal for enjoying the colors of the Tuscan sky at sunset in the company of a good glass of homemade Chianti wine.
The Granary is located on the 1st floor, is the largest accommodation in the property and is suitable for a family with children but also for two couples vacationing together. The 45-square-meter apartment consists of a kitchen, bathroom, a double bedroom, a large living room with sofa and dining table for 4-6 people as well as a cozy 13-square-meter loft that sleeps two. From the living room there is a beautiful view of the farm. The apartment has a west-facing terrace equipped with tables and chairs where you can eat, sunbathe and relax.
There is also a quaint outdoor brick kitchen with a wood-burning pizza oven and a grill/barbecue for free use by guests. There are also a few equipped areas to relax, eat and have a glass of wine while enjoying nature. They are placed in stratregic spots on the farm, such as near the property's stream, amidst olive groves and vineyards.
It is possible to request breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the property. Typical products at km 0 are served here, coming directly from the farm's gardens and and farms, as well as from family farms in the area.
The Podere delle Arti is pleased to organize wine and oil tastings of its own production for its guests, directly in the cellar.
At a small shop in the farmhouse, it is possible to buy genuine and tasty typical products in case you wish to cook inside the apartments.
Compatible with the other activities of the house, upon request, it is also possible to organize ceremonies and private parties.
The Podere is located in the Chianti Hills, between Greve in Chianti and Figline Valdarno, in a convenient and strategic starting point for visiting the most beautiful and historically important cities of Tuscany, first and foremost Florence. The latter and its historical wonders are just 25 km away and are easily reached by theA1 highway, the Incisa-Reggello tollbooth is about 10 km away. The Figline Valdarno train station is 5 km away; buses also depart from it, and shuttle services are provided on request to reach it.
The identity of the farm is composed of rural tradition and a cultural soul linked to the ancient knowledge of the Florentine arts, which is why it is possible to book courses and demonstrations of agriculture, art, crafts and Tuscan cooking , either in the facility or directly in workshops in the area. The Podere is also an educational farm and dairy, you can learn how to take care of wonderful baby goats and get to know closely roosters and chickens of the typical local breed "valdarnese."
EDUCATIONAL FARM AND DAIRY
The Podere delle Arti is home to Bendetta, Albertina, Capriolina and Camilla, four wonderful baby goats, all with children due in the coming weeks. They live outdoors, in a portion of the Farm dedicated to them, and every day they are cared for and taken to graze in the woods until sunset, when they return, have dinner and go to sleep. Milking also takes place throughout the spring and summer months, both in the morning and evening. Guests who request it can experience one or more days as real shepherds! Of course, not without learning how to make excellent cheese from the freshest milk! Throughout the stay, moreover, roosters and chickens of the Valdarnese white breed, a poultry population spread almost exclusively in their home territory, will be great company: their curiosity and friendly gait leaves no one indifferent!
FOOD AND WINE
A very rich offer of food and wine tourism: wine, oil and vegetables are produced. At the restaurant it is possible to book lunches and dinners based on products from the farm, game and all dishes under the banner of the most authentic Tuscan tradition. The Chianti Classico area, world wine excellence, is just 3 km away. On the other side, that of Valdarno, some of the best PGI oils in the world are produced.

OLIVE WOODWORKING

PAINTING
The property is situated in the land of the Renaissance; personalities such as Francesco Petrarch and Marsilio Ficino were born among these hills, the birth and apotheosis of Florentine humanism, a philosophy from which springs the ideal Renaissance beauty perfectly represented in the paintings of Sandro Botticelli. From the principle of the "virtues of the ancients as an ethical model" comes the desire to make knowledge available to those who visit the area, offering a hands-on painting course for both adults and children, accompanied by a simple but comprehensive account of Renaissance history.
PELLETTERY
Leather working is one of the fields of craftsmanship in which Florence and Tuscany express world supremacy. Thanks to the collaboration of an important Florentine workshop, an exhaustive workshop experience is offered. Guests, in the heart of Florence, will be introduced to the world of leather goods and can learn about the various types of materials and how to work them. During the workshop, among several wallet models, one will be able to choose one to be made. With the possibility of customizing the leathers, trimmings and accessories needed to create it. Starting with the basics, drawing on the leather and then cutting and assembling, assisted by professional designers, step by step, you will arrive at the complete realization. At the end of the course, the object created will become a personalized memento to take home of one's experience in Florence.

Figline Valdarno is famous for its historic center, its medieval city walls and its ancient origins, dating back to 1109. The large and distinctive Piazza Marsilio Ficino is named after the humanist philosopher who made fundamental contributions to the Renaissance. Here is the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria, founded in the mid-1200s, containing works of art by De Magistris and Luca della Robbia. In the sacristy is a Museum of Sacred Art with works of art, jewelry, furnishings and paintings. On the opposite side of the square stands the loggia of the Serristori Hospital, founded in 1399. The Praetorian Palace is an imposing stone building dating from the 14th century, its facade decorated with the coats of arms of successive Podestas. The Church of St. Francis, dated 1229, is the oldest church in the area; inside are numerous works from the 15th century. Parts of the ancient walls from 1350, including the ancient watchtowers, can be seen in Figline. The Museo Casa della Civiltà Contadina in Gaville offers a very interesting insight into rural life, thanks to a display of more than 6,000 objects.
Greve in Chianti is the heart of the "Chianti Classico" wine area. In the center of the village is the market square, surrounded by arcades with numerous historic stores, artisan workshops, wine shops and restaurants. In the center is a statue of the great explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, a native of here, famous for having explored the coast of North America in 1524, reaching first the area where New York City now stands. The Town Hall is in the neo-Renaissance style, while the Church of Santa Croce is neoclassical, with statues of St. Francis and St. John the Baptist and an interior in the Florentine Renaissance style. The former Oratory of St. Francis, built in the 16th century, houses a Museum of Sacred Art with works from the 14th through the 19th centuries.
