The holiday farm "Il Calesse" takes its origin from the farm "F.lli Giuntini", existing from 1860, and it is located on the green hills of Montalbano region, in Tuscany.
The estate and the farmhouse have been totally restructured to be able to accomodate guests and to offer them genuine and relaxing holidays. The farm is composed of vast woods, olive-groves, vineyards, tree nurseries, and it produces olive oil, wine, vinsanto, lumber and ornamental plants.

For the reception, the farm and the farmhouse have been completely renovated, and consist of 5 rooms for a total of n. 12 beds, finely furnished, equipped with TV, independent heating, personalized linen. The rooms are named according to the view that you can enjoy from the window, which distinguishes villages and nuclei of houses nearby.
All the renovation of the building has been carried out respecting the criteria of bio-architecture, therefore, using recycled materials combined with high technology: heating is done thanks to solar thermal panels; electricity is produced with photovoltaic panels; water disposal is done with a phyto-purification tank; irrigation of the garden is done thanks to the collection of rainwater.
Inside the structure there is also the restaurant, which can seat up to 30 people. In this way it is possible to let guests taste the typical products and specialties of Tuscan cuisine, (excellent appetizers, hot soups, pasta, main courses, desserts). The meat used comes from local farms, vegetables and fruit from the farm gardens, always following the first fruits that the different seasons offer. The wines are of the house or, on request, of the local producers, combined according to the style of the expert sommelier.
Completing the structure: teaching room, wine cellar for winemaking, cupboard for oil storage, study/reading room, porch, laundry available for guests, outdoor barbecue, outdoor oven for bread and pizza, parking.
In their spare time the guests can run across the ecologic path in the chestnut wood and reach the medicean wall of Barco, the ancient building stone quarry and the glade where hunting formerly took place.
For its guests the farm house organizes: guide tours to Florence, Pisa, Lucca, turistic outgoings to Versilia, to Tyrrhenian coast, and to Pistoia Mountain.
On the ground floor of the ancient farmhouse there is a didactic classroom provided with projectors and equipment for courses, seminars and exhibitions. In the room it is possible to admire the ancient work tools and the equipments used for the production of oil, wine and the various agricultural products.
The farm's products for sale are extra virgin olive oil, wine (obtained from sangiovese and trebbiano grape vines, pressed using wine presses) and Vinsanto (an excellent dessert wine, that is at its best accompanied by cantuccini biscuits, Tuscan dry almond biscuits).
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.
