The agriturismo
With the cosy hospitality of the Salvi family, the wide green spaces of the 50 hectare estate and the beautiful renovated old farmhouse, the agriturismo is the ideal base for a holiday in the open air, just 10 km from Spoleto.
The organically run farm rears free range animals and produces cheese, wine, PDO extra virgin olive oil, meat and other produce which guests can enjoy in the restaurant.
The accommodation
The 11 guest rooms – doubles, single use and twin (all with the option to add an extra bed) – feature bathrooms with showers and TVs; some rooms are also suitable for disabled guests. You’ll also find a beautiful swimming pool at the centre of a soft green lawn and a children’s play area.
The restaurant serves traditional dishes accompanied by the farm’s own fine wine: starters of homemade pasta, mains of grilled meats with salads and vegetables (baked courgette and aubergine, stuffed tomatoes, etc.), excellent typical desserts (tarts, “Salame del Re” chocolate sausage, “crescionda” cake and more).
The farm’s dairy produces organic cheeses using milk from the cows and sheep which graze freely and are fed on fodder produced on the organic farm itself. The star product is a wonderful mixed cheese (sheep and cow) which guests are welcome to sample.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo’s guests can observe all stages of the cheese production, from milking to ripening, with educational workshops available for children.
Lovers of nature and art can explore the local woodland, the Marmore Falls and the cities of Spoleto, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi and Orvieto. The area also plays host to a wealth of outstanding folklore events.
