The agriturismo
Wonderfulfamily-run farmhouseowned by Daniela and Marco in a panoramic position in Orvieto withswimming pool, and located within theUNESCO WorldBiosphere Reserve ofMonte Peglia. Ideal for a relaxing holiday, to try thetypical Umbrian cuisine and to visit the many characteristic villages between Umbria, Lazio andTuscany.
The accommodation
From the careful renovation of the stone farmhouse of the 17th century were obtained 6 large bedrooms furnished in rustic style with wooden beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and in some an old fireplace. They all have a private bathroom with a shower and panoramic views.
Breakfast with homemade cakes and jams is served on the ground floor in the veranda. We may occasionally prepare dinner for our guests, but these are impromptu dinners depending on our availability and the number of guests present (pizza, tastings or bbq). There are also many options nearby that we can recommend and book for you either in Orvieto (15 minutes by car) or in the small village below our farmhouse - Ciconia (10 minutes by car).
All the rooms inside the farmhouse and the veranda are provided with Wi-Fi Internet connection.
Around the house there is a beautiful garden with a panoramic swimming pool, a vegetable garden, woods, 700 ancient olive trees and a belvedere where you can enjoy a dream view that stretches from the "Rupe" of Orvieto to Tuscany with breathtaking sunsets.
Activities and surrounding
Thanks to its strategic position, the most important historical towns in Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio can be reached quickly. Rome and Florence can easily be reached by train from the Orvieto train station. The area offers a wide range of activites including: horseback riding, cycling, trekking, water sports, thermal baths, food festivals, ancient religious celebrations, medieval costume parades and jousting competitions. Several parks and trekking can be found around the farmhouse as well. The Umbria Jazz Festival takes place every year in Perugia in July and Orvieto in December and the Corpus Domini medieval celebrations take place between Penecost and mid-June every year.

I have been managing Antica Olivaia since 2012 along with my wife.
As well as we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to pursue a passion which led me to run an agriturismo.
