Horti Amerini is an old stone farmhouse nestled in the countryside between the Amerini Hills on the border between Umbria and Lazio .
The farmhouse is renovated in green building: half of the house is built in wood and insulated with straw. A comfortable and healthy home, ideal for resting or working inside, or outside in the shade of oak trees.
A starting point for visiting cities and towns in Umbria and Tuscia, in northern Lazio, or to immerse yourself in nature, to wander on foot, by bike or on horseback in the rolling hills that surround it.
A 7-by-3.50-meter pool overlooks the panorama from the snows of Terminillo to the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Soratte at the gates of Rome.
The entire house and surrounding space are at the complete disposal of guests.
Lime or unfired earth plasters, wood or earth floors stabilized with natural linseed oil are the materials used that result in a comfortable, healthy house that is easily warm in winter and naturally cool in summer.
On the ground floor , guests will have access to a large kitchen equipped with dishes, stove with four gas burners, refrigerator with freezer, electric oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, TV, and a large table for six with a marble top. Adjacent to the kitchen, a living room and porch with tables and sofas provide space for lunches, dinners, remote work and relaxation.
On the second floor are the bedrooms:
- 1 master bedroom with a bathroom and an additional single/double bed;
- 2 double rooms with a shared bathroom with bathtub and access to a panoramic terrace;
- 1 open room with a single or double sofa bed.
A veranda shaded by curtains houses a large table for outdoor dining; in front, next to the old oven, a space for a barbecue. Chairs and benches under oak trees allow you to read or rest beside old rose bushes.
The Amerini Hills are Umbria just a stone's throw from Rome. From the farmhouse you can reach in a day most of the typical attractions of Umbria and Tuscia, in northern Lazio: the cities of art, the places of local gastronomic excellence, the natural beauty of the hills, its mountains, volcanic lakes and hot springs but, at the same time, you can visit Rome in a day and then rest in the evening enjoying the sunset among the trees with a glass of wine in your hand, again far from traffic and confusion.
The E45 on the one hand makes it possible to reach Viterbo in 40 minutes (from here you can continue to Tarquinia and the sea, crossing Tuscia with the lakes of Bolsena, Vico and Bracciano and all the Etruscan and medieval towns of the Viterbo area), on theother leads to Terni, from where to continue either to Rieti and the Sacred Valley (with natural beauties such as the Prati di Strocone, Lake Piediluco, whose waters falling toward Terni form the Marmore Falls, and Franciscan places such as Greccio, or even further up to Cascia, Norcia and the Plain of Castelluccio), or toward Foligno (passing through Spoleto, Trevi, the Fonti del Clitunno, Spello, as far as Rasiglia), or toward Perugia (passing through Todi, Deruta, and continuing toward Foligno, Assisi, Cannara, Montefalco).
A few kilometers from the farmhouse is the Narni Amelia train station on the Ancona-Rome line, which intersects the Rome-Florence line at Orte.
Please to meet you, my name is Sergio and I am 62 years old.
I have been managing Horti Amerini since 2013 along with a colleague.
We take care of: we welcome the guests, we are responsible for communication, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to change my life which led me to run an agriturismo.
Our guests especially appreciate the chance to stay in a natural setting.
