Nestled in the Alta Murgia National Park, just 39 kilometers fromBari airport, 14 kilometers from Altamura and 27 kilometers from Matera, DonnaPaola is an estate that covers about 300 hectares of Murgia and is surrounded by more than 13 kilometers of wonderful dry stone walls: an unspoiled place where nature welcomes the guest with a warm embrace, in an ideal encounter between people, the plant world and the animal world, in order to fully live the Murgia experience.

DonnaPaola is located in the deepest Murgia, which fascinates among the succession of subplain areas and blades.

It covers more than 270 ha and opens to the visitor's eye with a succession of rock formations, typical Apulian dry stone walls, dense forests and vast steppe expanses.

Truly extraordinary are the encounters with small and medium-sized animals; walking around one can easily encounter podoliche cows, free to graze, which will make all opsites enjoy this total country experience. Sightings of large birds of prey such as the red kite, a bird with a wingspan of more than 2 meters, are also frequent.

The rooms of the DonnaPaola estate were created from the restoration and re-functionalization of the ancient "Jazzi," historically a shelter for sheep and now transformed into comfortable dwellings immersed in the deafening silence of the Murgia.

Each room has a livable outdoor terrace, equipped with a table with umbrella and chairs; an ideal place to admire the Murgia landscape that fades into the distance.

The outdoor spaces allow, in fact, the view of the surrounding landscape immersed in a natural ecosystem perfectly preserved and integrated in the rural context. The horizons are enriched from season to season with continuous blooms that change with the climate. Huge, centuries-old oak trees surround the homes allowing guests to linger outdoors for readings in the garden or to enjoy the delicacies of a barbeque surrounded by nature. In addition, the room area has a solarium, 60-square-meter swimming pool and bar.

Theold "focagna," the meeting place in front of the fireplace of farmers and shepherds, has become an evocative social gathering place in which to relive the experience of country life; a place where guests can spend relaxing hours devoting themselves to reading in the early morning hours or at sunset.

There is also a social kitchen, built in the stone in a part of the old "Jazzo," well equipped with induction stove, refrigerator, oven, fruit extractor , where each guest can prepare his or her own meal sharing it in the adjacent social room, also with other guests. In the same, breakfasts are served in the morning.

The fulcrum of DonnaPaola's daily life is the restaurant, a multipurpose space ready to welcome guests for lunch and dinner in addition to being the gathering place for discussion and thinking. Genuine and healthy dishes will be prepared for guests: fresh pasta, mushrooms, seasonal truffles, selections of meats, cheeses, and desserts with elements of the earth in an offer of products exclusively at Km 0.
