Close to the Taranto Murgia overlooking the Ionian Sea, the farm is immersed in the countryside of Massafra, characterized by ravines (such as that of Madonna della Scala) that for centuries have housed villages and churches dug into the rock and limestone that provide a window on the evolution of geology, history and local vegetation. The farm of 11 hectares bounded by dry stone walls, includes arable land, olive groves, orchards and gardens. A large walnut tree marks the horizon. Seasonal cultivations (oil, wheat, legumes, vegetables), eggs and seasonal fruit, provide 0 km products and eco-sustainable. In addition, bread, pasta, friselle and biscuits are prepared with flour produced in the small mill with stone mill.
The farm has been recently renovated and offers a welcoming atmosphere and a pleasant stay. Far from the traffic, it enjoys a natural silence that reconciles with oneself and with nature. The company is committed to eco-sustainability: is equipped with solar panels and thermal fireplaces for the production of domestic hot water and for space heating; it collects 90% of waste separately, collects and reuses rainwater in two tanks, produces organic food and km 0, uses energy-saving light bulbs, ecological products for personal and household hygiene and flow reducers for water, and finally cultivates fields, gardens and orchards with natural methods and without synthetic chemicals.
The 4 guest rooms are identified with the name of trees present in the company (olive, cherry, walnut, pomegranate) and are equipped with bathroom with shower, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, linen. In each room there are two single beds that can become a double. All rooms are accessible to people with disabilities because there are no architectural barriers.
Guests can enjoy genuine products at breakfast, lunch or dinner: the company operates in accordance with environmental sustainability and buys only from farms and livestock that conduct their activities in the same way and can be visited. Among the top products: extra virgin olive oil obtained by cold pressing of olives of the Leccino and cima di Melfi varieties; ancient grains (Simeto durum wheat and Sieve soft wheat), legumes (chickpeas, pascia and red lentils), various fruits (almonds, cherries, pomegranates, cacomela, mulberries, pears, apples, persimmons, walnuts, apricots...) and flour products.
On request we can organize guided tours in the most beautiful places of Puglia. Massafra preserves important historical testimonies: the Candelora, S. Leonardo, S. Antonio Abate, S. Marina crypts, the Cathedral of S. Lorenzo, the Madonna della Scala Sanctuary, the rock church of S. Marco, the matrix church, the castle, the ravines of Madonna della Scala (Frantoio) and of S. Marco, the park of the ravines, the WWF S. Elia Oasis.
Within a radius of 20 km you can reach the sea, Taranto with its archaeological museum, Mottola, Castellaneta and Grottaglie; 30 km from the farm you can visit the famous places of Alberobello, Martina Franca, Valle d'Itria, Locorotondo, Cisternino, the Caves of Castellana and the zoo-safaris of Fasano. A little further on, Matera, Bari, Ostuni, Polignano a Mare, Castel del Monte, Lecce, the Palatine Tables, the beach and the Metapontum Museum.
