Country House Oliveto sul Lago was born from the recovery of anancient dwelling and preserves the charm of tradition.

An evocative avenue of cypress and olive trees leads guests to the Country House, situated at the top of a gentle slope overlooking the valley of Varignana and opening before one of the most spectacular olive groves in the hills of Bologna.

The large outdoor garden overlooks an infinity pool over the valley with solarium usable from May to September.

The breakfast served is continental with homemade cakes, juices and jams , as well as fruits and vegetables from the farms owned by the farm and cold cuts and cheeses from local farms.

The catering service offered by the Country House, reserved for events of more than 20 people, offers the opportunity to taste typical Emilia-Romagna products, fresh and chosen according to season: all the authenticity and naturalness of typical cuisine enclosed in a combination of tradition and creativity.

For all guests staying overnight at the Country House, anemotional and tasty experience of tasting the extra virgin olive oil produced by the farm will be offered. An oil of the highest quality, born from an integrated supply chain at Km 0 of Terra di Varignana.

At the winery of the farm, it will be possible to deepen the experience with sensory and technical tastings accompanied by platters of genuine and local cured meats and cheeses, under the guidance of expert oil tasters. The tasting will make you appreciate the qualities of a good Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the main element of the Mediterranean diet, which is not a simple condiment, but a precious ingredient rich in beneficial properties.

Oliveto sul Lago, country house of the Agrivar farm of Palazzo di Varignana is pleased to extend to its guests the exclusive services of the Resort Palazzo di Varignana at preferential conditions. Wrapped in the silent magic of the Bolognese hills, Palazzo di Varignana dominates from above the village from which it takes its name. The heart of the resort is Palazzo Bentivoglio, a country castle with four traditional towers dated 1705. The main historic building is surrounded by a contemporary village built of stone, according to an architecture that is consistent and harmonious with the surrounding landscape. Surrounding the complex are 30 hectares of land divided among vast green spaces, parks, water sources and breathtaking views. Palazzo di Varignana is located just 2.5km from Oliveto sul Lago.

The Palazzo di Varignana farm also presents its new winery: 1,100 square meters of space built according to the canons of semi-hypogean architecture, made with the representative natural materials of the place, such as olive wood and red bricks, perfectly integrated with the nature of the surrounding area. Elegant designer finishes and colors reminiscent of autumn foliage characterize the tasting room, where the view fades to the terrace overlooking the spectacular vineyard currently being converted to organic, where, alongside native vines, such as Sangiovese, Albana, Famoso, Malbo Gentile and Pignoletto, international ones, such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, are grown. The winery and vineyard unfold within a wonderful natural Amphitheater, an exceptional location that has already hosted several events related to the world of wine tourism, such as concerts and open-air cinema with tasting. The tasting room is open from Wednesday to Sunday to offer guests a unique experience discovering many wines: Chardonnay, Spumante metodo Classico, Pinot Noir and Sangiovese Superiore.
