An agritourism in the countryside, organic crops, a laboratory where you can invent tasty products and a passion for chilli peppers. The agriturismo Ca' d'Alfieri, immersed in the luxuriant nature of Val Noveglia near Bardi, is an old stone farmhouse renovated according to the criteria of green building, with particular attention to the reuse of materials of the house and the typology of the area.
The rooms are furnished with antique furniture and throughout the farmhouse you can breathe an air that will take you back in time. Around the farmhouse, in the greenhouses, the organic crops are the basis of the many products processed and also offered in the restaurant. The old barn has been converted into a dining room and seats about 30 people. The cuisine is simple but creative. In addition to lunches and dinners, the kitchen offers snacks and tastings of local meats and cheeses, accompanied by vegetables, sauces and compotes of our production.
It is possible to book the picnic basket to be spoiled in the Bosco di mezzo, a magical place just a few steps from the farmhouse. We are on the Via degli Abati (Abbots' Way) and among paths that allow walks and hikes: among woods and high-altitude prairies, small gullies, wetlands, dry stone walls and beautiful examples of spontaneous architecture, characterized by the wise use of local sandstone.
The farmhouse is the ideal starting point for many excursions to discover the territory. It is located on the Via degli Abati, an ancient pilgrims' path from Pavia to Pontremoli. There are many possibilities for excursions: from a simple half-hour walk to real trekking.
The Castle of Bardi and that of Compiano with its villages are certainly worth a visit. In the surrounding area you can discover ghost towns, beautiful waterfalls, parish churches, oases and find secluded corners for a swim in the river.
