The agriturismo

Agriturismo La Valle del Re was born from the idea of creating a place where people can experience the Taro Valley, a place symbolic of Parmesan culinary tradition, in a new way. No longer just food and wine but a 360-degree wellness that combines the pleasures of food with care for one's body, contact with the surrounding nature and pleasant detachment from the ever-increasing daily tasks.

The location is spectacular: a view as far as the eye can see over the Taro Valley and an ancient farmhouse whose core is a dovecote tower dating back to the mid-1400s.

The farmhouse has 2 double rooms, 3 apartments, a panoramic swimming pool, a spa and a multipurpose room for events.

 

The accommodation

A rural complex with a strong Parma identity was built around the turret, with its vaulted ceilings, stone architecture from the nearby river, and harmonious blend of different styles and eras in form and materials.

The great work of restoring this structure required several years and a great study to try to preserve its essence as much as possible, use materials as consistent as possible with the original core and create environments that could best accommodate the guests of La Valle del Re.

What we got were two double rooms and three apartments. A perfect number of beds that would allow us to give the right attention to each of the guests and allow the farmhouse to return to the continuous but never hectic bustle of an Emilian agricultural court.

To complete the whole, the old barn has been reinvented into a large breakfast room, the porch into a panoramic swimming pool overlooking the Valley, the icehouse into an elegant spa and the barn into a multipurpose room for events and courses.

The activities that guests at La Valle del Re can enjoy can be summarized on three main groups: wellness, food and wine, and outdoor life .

Wellness is the pivotal principle on which the entire complex was built. Already from breakfast you can see how the selection of ingredients and recipes was made with the guests' well-being and pleasure in mind first and foremost. Then come access to the Spa, the Pools and the Massage Room, in which it is possible to book a treatment.

Enogastronomy is our business. We are primarily producers of Parmigiano Reggiano DOP and lovers of Emilian tradition and cuisine. This is why La Valle del Re must always be animated by gastronomic courses, events, cooking classes and gatherings of associations that make gastronomic culture their aim.

Outdoor Life is the symbol of our agricultural soul and the return to a direct contact with nature we think can be fundamental. Through the agritourism passes one of the oldest paths in Europe, the Via Francigena, which pilgrims have been traveling for centuries and which in recent decades has gone from being a symbol of religious redemption to a means of regaining both physical and psychological balance.
