Loc. Bristie, 3 , 34010 Sgonico (Trieste) Code
An agriturismo in the hamlet of Bristie, in the commune of Sgonico, at the heart of the Trieste Karst Plateau. The owners, the Briscak family, have lived in the area for 15 generations, and even gave their name to the eleventh century village, of which we can still admire the ancient ruins today.
The farm and the guest accommodation are today managed by two sisters, Irena and Jasna, and their mother Cvetka. The agriturismo offers twin, triple and quadruple rooms.
The farm rears pigs and produces white wine (Vitovska and Malvasia), and red wine (Terrano). Other produce includes prosciutto crudo, prosciutto cotto, salami, pancetta and ombolo. Cheese and other food items are purchased from other local producers.
The rooms include private bathrooms, satellite/digital terrestrial TVs and air conditioning. Wi-Fi internet is free, and available on request. From the 1st to the 10th of each month, the snack bar is open for guests to enjoy snacks and cold dishes of homemade bread and delicious sweet treats, from apple strudel to fruit polentina and crema carsolina.
There is also an exhibition of ancient agricultural items belonging to the family, including a bike with almost a century of history.
The region is home to a wealth of pathways for exploring the green countryside. The Karst Plateau, rich in history, is a fascinating place, just like the Grotta Gigante cave, the Marian Temple of Monte Grisa and the city of Trieste.
And just a short distance takes you to the sea with its many well-equipped beach resorts. You can enjoy day trips to Venice and the islands of the Venetian Lagoon, to Treviso, Vicenza or the nearby Slovenia and Croatia.
