Sassello (Savona) Code 009055-AGR-004
Cascina Cornelli is a newly opened farmhouse located on a plateau in Sassello, in the midst of chestnut forest from which one can enjoy magnificent sunsets over the Maritime Alps and Monviso.
Cascina Cornelli is an oasis of peace and tranquility but also a strategic base for hiking and biking, trips to the Ligurian Riviera sea, Beigua Park and the Langhe.
Breakfasts and dinners with local recipes and genuine ingredients are served.
The farmhouse is located in a typical Sassello farmhouse that has just been renovated after decades of neglect, located along Via Bella, an old dirt road in Sassello.
The facility, which is entirely powered by renewable sources (photovoltaic panels, solar thermal, biomass boiler, heat pump), offers four double rooms with bathrooms (two of which can be converted to triples and one of which is accessible for the motor disabled).
Guests can enjoy a genuine breakfast and dinner made of local recipes and products, organized according to what the garden offers from day to day; not infrequently they eat all together as in the tradition of agritourism.
Via Bella allows hiking, walking and biking in the forest. The place, thanks to its isolation, offers total disconnection from the urban world and complete immersion in nature.
Here one experiences the everyday life of a real farm with breeding and care of animals and crops. The farm produces vegetables, lavender products (essential oil, hydrolate, flower bouquets and sachets), honey, milk, eggs, white and red meats.
Depending on the periods and upon request, educational activities and experiences are organized for clients such as "milking lessons," "honey extraction," "lavender distillation," etc.
Sassello is a renowned village, known for its Orange Flag, macaroons and woods where it is possible to collect mushrooms and chestnuts. The territory of the municipality is located within the Beigua Regional GeoPark, whose territory offers truly unique sea/mountain views and walks of considerable botanical/geological/archaeological interest. In the surroundings of the farmstead it is possible to go hiking, biking, snowshoeing and to reach small streams and pools of water to cool off and bathe.
Within a half-hour drive are the renowned beaches of Varazze and Albisola on the Ligurian Riviera and the town of Acqui Terme in Piedmont, while in an hour or so you can reach the UNESCO panoramas of the Langhe.
Cascina Cornelli is located in Pianale about two kilometers from the provincial road SP 49 at the height of the hamlet of Pratovallarino. The access road, at first paved, then turns into a dirt road, and it is therefore recommended to check the possibility of using your own vehicle. Possibility of arranging a shuttle service where necessary. Sassello is easily reached from the Albisola and Ovada highway exits.
