Ancient farmhouse surrounded by olive trees, on a hill overlooking the Elsa Valley, in Certaldo: it is part of an organic farmthat produces oil. It hosts only one group at a time so as to guarantee privacy and a dedicated welcome.
The farmhouse is family-run and the owners are always available for any need.
Located on the top of a hill overlooking the entire Val d'Elsa, Casa Pietraia consists of an old farmhouse, a barn, a 15-meter infinity pool for the exclusive use of guests and a private garden surrounding the entire property.
In the garden there is a large stone table, to eat all together and get to know each other: we organize oil and winetastings and dinners ( typical menu with handmade dishes and local organic ingredients, also for special diets).
Emma, the owner, also holds cooking classes: they last 4 hours and you can prepare a complete meal, including vegan, vegetarian or for those who suffer from intolerances.
At guests' disposal a notebook with the history of the place and suggested daily tours.
Accommodations equipped with all comforts (including airconditioning), billiards, barbecue, private parking, fireplace, wifi and computer complete the offer.
The farm produces high quality extra virgin olive oil, which can be purchased on site or shipped to you.
The house is in the territory of ancient Semifonte, in an area of archaeological interest (the Via Francigena once passed through here), halfway between Florence and Siena, a few kilometres from San Gimignano, Certaldo , Volterra, Pisa and Lucca.
You can go trekking or get lost wandering around the surrounding villages. The owners suggest routes and wineries to visit; Emma is a professional oil taster and does tastings.
