Agriturismo La Giara

The farm is situated in Beverino, in the heart of the lower Val di Vara, 15 mins from La Spezia, 30 mins from the beautiful Cinque Terre, from romantic Portovenere, the poetic Lerici and the historical Sarzana.

La Giara was opened by Rita, raised in one of the most striking areas in Liguria, who dreamt of returning to a simple lifestyle in close contact with the nature of her childhood. She bought and renovated an old 19th farmhouse, keeping the original portal stones in sandstone and the wooden beamed ceilings.

Her choice can be seen in her total adoption of permaculture, lovingly tending to her land in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.

The symbol of permaculture is the woods, where each element is closely linked to the other in perfect equilibrium.

La Giara is the farmer's house, an old farmhouse from the 1800s that has been renovated while maintaining its originality. Close to La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. Here you meet the patient strength of the Earth and the toil of the wise hands of Man, that unique bond that binds landscape and flavors, an identity as strong as this border land, rugged and hard to forget!

Overnight accommodations are provided by 5 comfortable rooms with bathrooms , one of which is equipped for people with disabilities and a two-room apartment with 2 rooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette.

The rooms are equipped with a hair dryer, full supply of towels, sheets and blankets. Each room is equipped with a refrigerator, kettle.

Outdoor kitchenettes will be available where guests can prepare their own grills of meat, fish, vegetables or other.. A few kilometers from our farmhouse is a Breeding Farm of Cattle and Pigs in the wild with its Slaughterhouse named Scapazzoni.

Breakfast is served at the table in the Farmhouse Hall. The guest can taste the Italian breakfast or, upon request, the European breakfast.

In the summer months possibly stays of at least 7 nights ( Saturday to Saturday).

The farmhouse has for its own needs farmyard animals.

In addition to a discrete production of excellent extra virgin olive oil, which can be tasted by guests, in the greenhouses and fields are grown by natural methods, vegetables, cereals (vegetables in general, potatoes, wheat spelt and corn), and native fruits (plums, prunes, apples and pears), which are then processed into tasty jams and juices.

It is no longer classic catering but guests can, upon request and subject to availability ,stop by the farmhouse to taste our products FROM THE KITCHEN TO THE TABLE. Only products from our FARM or from Farms at KM 0. Unique dishes that encompass all the nutritional values we need; from spelt salad to the various vegetables ; from testaroli of ancient grains and spelt flour, to pesto; from anchovies of monterosso to the boards of meats and cheeses of our VAL DI VARA..... from savory pies to desserts...

Valuing the products of the territory helps us to better respect the environment, the air and make those small rural, family businesses survive that with effort resist in a harsh and difficult terrirory... We also offer TAKEAWAY food to be enjoyed in the garden, on the terrace, in the pool area or even AT THE SEA.... in the evening in the beautiful beaches at sunset, as in my family's tradition!!!!Dinner in the evening in the beach, without confusion, with the cool sea breeze is etched in my mind as a beautiful memory of my childhood!

And...then...THE HOSPITAL GARDEN.....where the guest can pick tomatoes, salad and other vegetables directly from the garden and eat them in their own kitchen made in all the covered terraces...

It is our care to accompany the guest to spend a special vacation , as special are the places of this LEVANT LIGURIA LAND!!!

Guest can walk among the fields and visit the Farm.

The favourable position of the agriturismo means guests can easily reach the Riviera di Levante with its beautiful towns (Tellaro, Fiascherino, Lerici, S. Terenzo, La Spezia and Portovenere) and the magnificent "Cinque Terre" with its villages built on the cliff face overlooking the sea (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso).

What’s more, for mountain biking tourists, this place and the whole “Upper and Lower Val di Vara" area is full of handy and peaceful itineraries for discovering the old architecture, landscapes and the perfect balance between man and nature.

Beverino is a small valley with a splendid 12 Km trail (hilly) to be followed on foot, on mountain bikes or horseback through woodlands, villages, rivers and fields.
