The agriturismo
The Codirosso estate is a young farm, immersed in a wood of 100 hectares (entirely fenced) on top of the hills of the high Val di Cecina.
The owners, Emanuela and Giuseppe, are originally from Milan, but lived several years abroad before landing in this corner of paradise in Tuscany. He is a lawyer and she is a town councillor and they run the business with love and great passion.
The accommodation
The farmhouse has a suite with kitchenette and three double rooms, treated in every detail and heated all year round. The materials and furnishings used are all natural and the accommodations are equipped with every comfort, including Wi-Fi and satellite television.
The organic and eco-sustainable vocation of the company is also reflected in the restaurant: only products of their own production or of the territory are used, thanks to a local body of producers and farmers who use renewable and sustainable energy for the production and processing of food.
The restaurant offers mostly vegetarian dishes, with the presence in the menu of local meats and fish (strictly fresh); it is also open to outsiders, by reservation, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Activities and surrounding
Unique feature of the farm, along with the paths through the woods and passable throughout the year, is the large swimming pool made of biodesign, which offers the opportunity to rest in total relaxation in an unspoiled place away from it all.
The estate is also home to a wildlife rescue center and houses about 120 animals (some wild, some farmyard), all recovered and protected within the woods.
Between Follonica and Volterra, the farmhouse overlooks the sea: both from the rooms and from the restaurant you can watch spectacular sunsets, with a panorama that sweeps from Corsica to the island of Elba.
The central location of the farm allows you to quickly reach both the beaches and all the main tourist destinations in Tuscany.
Open all year round upon reservation, Tenuta Codirosso also organizes many events and courses.
